The New York Times, one of the biggest newspapers in America, has now taken much of the pay areas of their site and have made them available for free. This is major news considering the cost of a paper version of the NYT. Hopefully more newspapers will go this route. Ads can pay for things friends. It's like Morgan Webb said, if there are ads, you should get it free.
